New USAID Office opens in Kyiv

On October 2nd the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), together with the US Embassy held an exhibit to showcase projects which are financed by the United States government in Ukraine.  The exhibit was held to mark the opening of a new USAID office in Kyiv.  Dozens of programs, which mostly address developing education, civic society, rule of law and local government, participated in the exhibit.


John Teff, U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine and Jed  Barton, Mission Director for Ukraine welcomed guests and thanked them for 20 years of a productive and strong partnership between the Ukrainian and American governments.


Invited guests included: Oleksandr Popov, Head of Kyiv City State Administration, Raisa Bohatyrova, Vice Prime Minister for Humanitarian Issues, Maryna Stavniychuk, Deputy Head of the Ukrainian President's Secretariat, Paige Alexander, Assistant Administrator of the Bureau for Europe and Eurasia at USAID and many other of the Agency's partners.


USETI Alliance, which has been funded by USAID for five years, familiarized guests with its activities and presented the achievements that close cooperation with Ukrainian state educational agencies and civic organizations has made possible.
