2010 Rules of Admission to Educational Establishments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs

03.03.2010

By order of the Minister of Education and Sciences of Ukraine changes have been made to the application process for those applying to educational establishments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Ukraine.  The changes substantially change the terms of registering applicants in the regional departments of internal affairs.  Application to MIA educational establishments will now be regulated by the same rules that govern the application process to other establishments of higher education (HEIs)—hopeful applicants will need to register for external independent testing (EIT) by March 31st.

Because of this change, it is requested that those wishing to apply to MIA HEIs register for EIT at the Registration Centers at their earliest convenience.

In 2010 admission to MIA HEIs will be based on EIT results.  The results will need to be submitted on Ukrainian Center for Educational Quality Assessment (UCEQA)  issued certificates and will need to include grades from tests in Ukrainian Language and Literature and either Ukrainian History or Mathematics.  Tests in physical preparedness and an interview to determine whether an applicant is physically and psychologically ready to enter the Department of Internal Affairs will be conducted by commission in the MIA HEIs.

General testing of all individuals who registered with the UCEQA and plan on applying to HEIs (MIA HEIs and non-MIA HEIs) will take place in June of this year.
