Out of Prison—into the Student Population. More of those in Penal Colonies Want to Participate in External Independent Testing

10.03.2010

Out of prison—into the student population.  The L’viv Regional Center of Educational Quality Assessment notes that this year, there are a larger number of individuals from penal colonies wishing to undergo external independent testing.  The actual number is immaterial, but for such establishments, significant:  if last year less than ten individuals registered, today 15 have registered.

Larysa Seredyak, Director of the Regional Center for Educational Quality Assessment states “We are waiting to meet with representatives from the penal colony this week.  They will bring the documents of those wishing to participate in EIT.  This year the number of colonies from which students are registering, is growing.  We still expect to register individuals from the Duben, Sambir and Kovel’ Colonies.”

As for pupils from boarding schools, the majority of their anticipated graduates are choosing not to participate in EIT, reports Larysa Seredyak.  She adds that the total number of individuals who have registered with her Regional Center is close to 37,000.  That is 73% of the total number of anticipated graduates.

The last day of registration is March 31.  On March 13 we will already be administering the practice tests.  Over 17,000 EIT participants have registered for the practice tests.  The largest numbers are residents from the L’viv Region.
