Over 70% of Graduating Seniors Have Registered for External Independent Testing

As of March 9, 246,911 anticipated secondary school graduates have registered to participate in external independent testing (EIT) which will be conducted in June of 2010.  This accounts for 72.1% of the total anticipated graduates, reports the Press Service of the Ukrainian Center for Educational Quality Assessment (UCEQA).  The Osvitnyy Portal provided the following information: 

The largest number of secondary school graduates who chose to apply to establishments of higher education, (in % of their overall numbers), registered in the Donetsk Region (81.9%), Luhans’k Region (81.5%), the Sumy Region (80.3%) and in the cities of Sevastopol and Kyiv—81.6% and 78.5% respectively. 

 A much smaller number of anticipated graduates registered in the Zakarpattya (51.3%), and Chernivtsi (59.7%) regions. 

As a reminder, registration for those wishing to participate in EIT continues until 6pm on March 31st.  There are 1,456 Registration Centers operating across Ukraine.  The UCEQA strongly recommends against postponing registration to the final days.
