Kyiv—March 10. A Press-Conference was held at UKRINFORM on “Problems with the System of External Independent Testing (EIT).” Participants of the event included: Ihor Likarchuk, Director of the Ukrainian Center for Educational Quality Assessment, Olha Ayvazovs’ka, Chairman of the Civic Network “OPORA,” Nataliya Lynnyk, Director of the Campaign on Public Supervision of Unbiased and Objective Nature of 2009 External Independent Evaluation.
The participants discussed the following issues: Should the entire system of mandatory external independent testing (EIT) be cancelled in favor of a system which provides participants a choice of languages when testing? Should the system of EIT be changed? If so, how? They also analyzed the implementing EIT in Ukraine, how it is monitored nation-wide and how the admission process is monitored.
