The MoES Appeals to HEI Administrators
Monday, 19 July 2010
Monitoring of the Admission Campaign shows that Admission Commissions are working according to plan. However, some establishments of higher education (HEIs) are overloaded due to an extremely large number of applicants wishing to submit their applications for admission during the first days of the admission campaign.
Because of this the Ministry of Education and Sciences (MoES) is appealing to the leadership of HEIs to improve the efficiency of their admission commissions in response to the larger than expected number of applicants. Immediate recommendations include utilizing lecturers to increase the number of individuals accepting applications and to extend working hours during which applications can be submitted. Upper classmen are also to patrol the areas in and around HEIs to maintain general order.
Considering the recent weather, the MoES urges HEIs to cooperate with local governmental bodies to offer applicants the ability to purchase cold beverages, and to set up first aid points, etc., at the HEIs. Additionally, we request that applicants, their parents and families be given information regarding the application process and the time frame for application submission through the media.
