Destruction Being Passed off As Development

In London or Paris HEI applicants calmly prepare for admissions, knowing that the government will protect their rights, including their right to equal access to education. Our applicants understand that their merit is not the deciding factor during their application process. They also know that many establishments of higher education (HEIs) will choose weaker students during the selection process. The new Rules of Admission legalized several loopholes for those wishing to enter HEIs through the back door. Rather than perfecting the system of honest and transparent admissions, we are witnessing its blatant destruction.  read more

Rules of Admission 2011: the University Applicant’s Calendar for 2011.

The Ministry of Education has ratified new rules of admission to establishments of higher education for 2011. Applicants can expect three rounds of admissions, and the ability to submit applications electronically. Those applicants who graduated secondary school in 2007 or earlier will be able to choose EIT or admission exams as the basis for their admission. Last year this choice was only available to those applying for the independent form of study and night school; this year it is also available to those applying to the traditional form of study.  read more

Tabachnyk’s Second Admission Campaign: 2011

The failed admission campaign of 2010 forced the Minister of Education, Dmytro Tabachnyk and his department to react immediately; at the end of 2010 they ratified new rules of admission to HEIs for 2011. HEI applicants will now benefit from three rounds of acceptance for full government scholarships, the ability to submit applications electronically, and having additional points added to their admission score if they took preparatory courses.  read more

A Regional Meeting was held for Responsible Members of HEI Admission Commission in Kharkiv

Today a meeting was held in Kharkiv, at the National Technical University Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute. The meeting was led by: Yaroslav Bolyubash, Director of the Department of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education and Science, Youth and Sports, Mykola Kudykina, representative of the Electronic Admission project, and Volodymyr Kovtunets, Coordinator for USETI Alliance. The regional meeting included responsible admission commission members from establishments of higher education (HEIs) from the Kharkiv, Poltava, and Sumy regions that have a Level III-IV accreditation. The implementation of Electronic Admission to Ukrainian HEIs was the general topic of the meeting.  read more
